Who I am

I love journalism for a simple reason: Nothing makes me happier than learning new things and sharing them with people. In pursuit of this goal I have chased Congressmen down the halls of the Capitol, fielded a surprise phone call from Oprah Winfrey, and traveled to Jamaica to talk to workers affected by changes in the U.S. temporary visa system.

I have been writing for my entire life, but made it official when I entered the graduate journalism program at Boston University in 2004. Since then, I have covered the workings of small-town government in New Hampshire, the doings of alleged swindlers and con men, and the minutiae of local food systems. My passions include farmers markets, the ocean, data, sharp cheddar cheese, mystery novels, National Public Radio, punctuality, tutoring, travel, and proper grammar.
